The seventeenth meeting of the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) Emergency Response Sub‑Committee (the sub-committee) was held on Wednesday 14 October 2020.
Mandatory Workplace Requirements
The sub-committee finalised its advice for skills ministers outlining proposed actions and next steps the sub-committee intends to take to address issues with mandatory workplace requirements (MWR) in training products resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sub-committee considered how best to continue to communicate and engage with stakeholders on MWR issues and agreed to continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on MWR as the economic recovery continues.
Communications and engagement
The sub-committee noted that initial work has begun to refresh the AISC website, including to better highlight the work of this group. This first iteration of changes has focussed primarily on design and functionality, with future iterations planned to review content. These initial changes will be published on the AISC website shortly.
To mark the six-month anniversary of the establishment of the sub-committee, members also discussed a range of future communication activities over the coming weeks to ensure stakeholders are well informed about the work of this group.
Next Meeting
The next sub-committee meeting will be held on 5 November 2020.
