The updated BSB Business Services Training Package has been released on the national register (training.gov.au) and implementation support is available.
The BSB Training Package is a key component of the national vocational training system, with more than 350,000 Australians enrolling in a BSB Training Package qualification each year.
These qualifications and units of competency equip learners with essential transferable skills that are portable between job roles and industry contexts. For this reason, BSB units of competency are used extensively across the national training system.
The BSB Training Package also houses qualifications and units of competency that address the development of technical (or specialist) skills. These are aligned to a range of professions, including compliance, human resources and marketing.
The Business Services Industry Reference Committee has overseen an extensive 2.5 year review to develop Version 7.0 of the BSB Training Package. You can access the updated Training Package here.

PwC’s Skills for Australia has developed support materials including an Interpretation Manual and a series of videos to assist training providers with transitioning to the updated training package. You can access the support materials here.
In addition, PwC’s Skills for Australia are hosting a number of virtual information sessions in October. These sessions provide an opportunity for stakeholders to hear about the review and to ask any questions. Register for one of the remaining sessions this week by emailing info@skillsforaustralia.com.
Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) with BSB Training Package qualifications on their scope of registration will have an extended 18-month transition period. RTOs interested in delivering the updated qualifications may be required to apply to the relevant Regulator to have these added to their scope of registration.
