Furnishing Industry Reference Committee

Furnishing Industry Reference Committee - Nominations closed

Nominations for the Furnishing IRC closed on 16 May 2019.

The AISC Secretariat is now assessing nominations received against the open positions before seeking AISC approval for the final structure and membership of the IRC.

Once approved, this page will be updated with the full list of members.

The furnishing industry covers a range of sectors and specialisations involved in the design, manufacture, assembly and installation of furniture and furnishings.

The Furnishing IRC is responsible for reviewing and updating national training package qualifications, skill sets and units of competency contained in the MSF Furnishing Training Package.

The AISC seeks to ensure that the membership of the Furnishing IRC provides the best possible industry coverage and expertise to support the work of the committee.

In determining the final membership, the AISC will consider both the characteristics of nominees (as set out in their nomination) and the composition of the committee as a whole to ensure it is balanced and appropriate to the furnishing industry.

Please note that while it may not be possible to include every nominee on the IRC, it is important to remember that the IRC will consult widely with all interested stakeholders and existing IRCs as appropriate, to progress the work of the committee. The IRC will be supported by IBSA Manufacturing as its Skills Service Organisation (SSO).

Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) will also support the IRC on an as-needs basis and the expertise of registered training organisations (RTOs) may be sought during training package development work as required.

Further information about the role of IRCs and how they operate can be found in the IRC Operating Framework.
